Good evening,
Well, just getting off the phone with Verizon business services they are allowing me to purchase the 7130e for $199 with a new 2 year committment. Just a couple of questions...is there a way that this phone can be used as a modem for my Mac Powerbook..either thru bluetooth or cable? I know it works on the pc side but have seen nothing mentioned for Mac.
The 8700..is there any news on its availability and should I wait for its release instead of getting the 7130e? The full qwerty keyboard and possible GPS sound really nice. Is there such a feature for the 7130e?

Thanks

Tom

We were able to get the 7130e for $79. That was with new contract and some special $100 data rebate they give you if you get the unlimited data on your plan. Corporate account.

Well..it seems I started this thread and I am back to where I began. Long story short...after calling business customer service and agreeing to add a data plan and recommit for two more years I was told by a supervisor that my account would be noted and I should go intoo a local Verizon store and pickup the blackberry for $199. I went into a local store this past weekend..picked out the phone and was all set to go when the sales person checked my account and didn't see any notes about the price that was offered. Several discussions with sales rep and manager led to nothing so I went home and called verizon again and the rep I spoke with this time said there was no note and I wasn't eligible for a discounted rate until August..explained previous call and she said she would have to email that call center and see if the agent there remembered what she promised...still waiting to hear back. Needless to say I am not real happy about all of this...while I do own a business and all of my phones are under that business plan with Verizon we don't have the ability to get the discounted rates that some of you mention. Can anyone suggest a recourse here or am I out of luck until August?

Thanks

Tom

PS. When I mentioned that $100 rebate thats listed for their pda phones I was told its only for new business customers??

Wow am I the only non-corporate BB user here..? geesh.

I got mine for $199. Other stores were charging $349 w/ a 1-yr agreement. This store was charging $249 for some reason. When the guy went into his system to activate everything, there was nothing in the pulldown box to choose from except 2-yr agreement. So he had to give me the 2-yr price ($199), but he later changed the agreement back to 1-yr. Sweet deal.

Good luck, it can be tough to get a new phone inside a year, but they may let you upgrade. Have you tried to run this up the flag pole and plead your case with a manger?

Thats the point I am at now..waiting for a manager to call me back after he reviews everything and my company's account.
