hey guys

jsut curious, if i need to exchange my 8700c for another one...will anything change just as my PIN or my email address?

Just your pin. Just make sure you back everything up so you can restore it. Then you go into your cingular/blackberryt web account and change the pin number so you get your new emails. People at cingular never told me that and I found out the hard way.

You will also have to rekey in any unlock codes for 3rd party software you bought (at least I did). If you are going through a BES, once your IT group switches your PIN, then resync to the desktop and you should be good to go.
And as stated above, make sure you do a full backup first.

On 3rd party software you will probably need to contact that company for a new registration or unlock code. I did on Mail2fax, CryptMagic, and Pocketday. Just send their cs an email with new pin and usually within the same day, sometimes an hour, you will have the new code.

well im employed by Radioshack which now carries Cingular...so if someone thing wrong with the 8700c i can simply exchange it

I work for Cingular as a sales manager, your telling me that you have no policies on exchanges??

some what...but im with radioshack...so if the device malfunctions i can just trade it
