My wife and I have been users of Blackberry 7280 handhelds for about 3 years. The wife is deaf so this is the way we keep in touch with each other, friends, relatives and most of the deaf community.

My wife has lost her address book contents and desktop ICON, is there a way to restore this function?

Did she ever back up the information in the past?

No she did not have backup with her pager. Would this be the only way to recover this? I wonder why both the contents and ICON disapeared. The way it is she cannot even reconsruct the address book.

Has she been syncing the address book into an email client? If so, you could backup the BlackBerry, wipe it clean, and start over. Restore what you need, and resync with the desktop email client.
