ok , i ordered my 8700c from cingular but i cannot help to notice that the 8700r or 8700f are just alot nicer looking !!! sorry to anger some people but i think this to be obvious . anyway , is there any way to buy the 8700r or 8700f and connect them with the USA cingular service ???

sorry to annoy , but will it really work if i call cingular and say , hey i bought a phone from canada , now hook up my service . thankx . hmmm , nice .

All carriers sell their 8700s so that they will only work on their network. The 8700c will only work on Cingular. The 8700r on Rogers, etc.

If you buy an 8700 from another carrier, you will have to get it unlocked. It is not free. Sometimes it is not even possible.

BEFORE buying a BB from any other than Cingular, check with the unlocking vendors (GSMPhoneSource, Bongo Wireless) to see if they can unlock it.

Caveat Emptor.
