Out of the box, can only be set to vibrate, then ring. I think there are 3rd party apps out there somewhere though

Awesome response. Thanks. How can I go about putting my own ringtones onto my blackberry?

There is a section dedicated to it that contains some really wicked stuff

No way that I know of although I wish it had this ability also.
Another that I would love to have is different vibe types. I like to leave my phone on vib at all times so that I don't disturb clients. Problem is that I can't tell the difference between emails and phone calls until the 3rd vib. By then sometimes I am too late to pick up the call.

Also I wish the vib was stronger.

Yes it seems the vibe is a problem. Thanks for all your help.

Can I turn off the blinking LED?

Yes.

Go to....

OPTIONS
SCREEN/KEYBOARD
LED COVERAGE INDICATOR

Set it to OFF.

Additionaly you can change the way the LED repsonds to new alerts by editing your active profile.

GREAT POST, I wanted to know how to turn this off for a while. But never could find it.

That only turns off the green one. You'll still have the red one for messages and the blue one for BlueTooth.

Not if you read my entire post and do as I suggest (edit your active profile and turn of the way the LED handles alerts.)

The bluetooth light is another issue. It can not be disabled if bluetooth is on.

P.S. A little duct tape strategically placed will turn off the LED entirely.

Notifire and Webmessenger are two third party apps that you could look into for more advanced notifications

I personally do not need to see that I am in a service area at all times(ie my bedroom when I am trying to fall asleep) but the message indicator is nice. The BT light is just annoying.

Might save some battery life with it off.

OTOH, it's kinda neat to see the whole corner of the room blink red when there's a message waiting.

Wow you guys are so helpful. I am still getting used to the screen while surfing the net. Is there any other page views I can set up in options to make the page not quite so long? I visit quite a few forums and it takes some time to get to the middleof the page. I also downloaded the Zen theme and it awesome.
