8700 won't dial direct from address book

When i pull up an address and select Call "contact" and select the number and hit the trackwheel it just returns me to the main phone page and never dials the number. It just starting happening and was wondering if anyone had any ideas or tips. Thanks

First of all, always try a reset before anytihng else. Do the remove battery for 30 seconds method and let it reboot and see if that works.

Wipe the device and then re-activate. Thats what has worked for me recently

I've also had this happen before....did a wipe...reinstalled....perfect.

Slightly different problem.

On my 7290 that I had before, I could dial by name from my phone screen. In other words, when I push the phone icon, I could scroll through my recent calls, and right there, I could just start typing a name (say John...), and it would straightaway go to my address book so that I can dial from there.

With the 8700 though, I really need to go to the address book to dial by name. Any work-arounds?

Press and hold the green button; the address list will appear and you can start typing....
