View Full Version : wait or upgrade?

Hi,
I have been thinking about upgrading my 7290 to the 8700c model. Now, I know this has been discussed and some people think its a complete waste of money. However, my quesiton is -

Does it make sense to upgrade the 8700c right now, rather than wait another month and upgradte to the new 3G model of the 8700c? What do you guys think?

Note: I travel a lot all over the world.

IMO if you want to upgrade, do it... The 7290 is a capable device. Sure it lacks the bells and whistles of the 8700 but thats the breaks with technology. As far as the 3G version, did I miss the news it was going to be launced here in the states, or I a complete boob. I was under the impression its was for Euprope only.

Depends on your usage. Lots of good reasons. Consider how you use the BB. If just for email do it now. If web browsing is impt then think about about that some. In my tips doc I have a list of reasons. The screen is a big one for me.

There are two different thinks he could be referring to... Some say the 8700 can be upgraded to HSDPA, others are referring to the 8707v which will be 3G for Europe and Asia only.

the continent/country is not an issue for me, as i travel internationally about 20days out of the month. I am true road warrior..

i use my blackberry for to do pretty much everything it can do...the more it gets capable of doing, the more i will do on it...

i am truely a blackberry-a-holic... so the more it can do, the better it can do.. the more i will do it.

if that makes any sense?

Was just checking out the 8700, I'd upgade now ........ it's a sweet looking BB!

Should be interesting to see what is available when my contract expires in 2 years.
