Gmail/Blackberry question

I did not see this particular topic covered in past posts so I am sorry if it is a duplicate. I want to know if you can use the "apply label" function while reading gmail on a BB. Can you read the mail on the BB browser or is the only option having it forwarded to your BB email program?
