"Dial from home screen" option

Just received a new 7100x which is pretty nice.

Have a question though. when I'm on the home screen I want to be able to tap the 'K' key and have the screen lock enabled. on my previous 7290 I had to disable an option in the phone application called "dial from home screen".

This option doesn't appear to be on the 7100. Can someone elaborate for me. When I press the 'K' key now it starts dialling number 6!

Yes, the Dial From Home Screen option is gone. None of the 7100s have it, and I was hoping it would be restored in v4, but it hasn't.

The explanation I've gotten is that the 7100t is more of a phone, so you would want to dial from the home page.

I still want the option back.

Just press and hold down the * key. That will enable the key lock. Also, by holding down # will enable vibrate mode. A feature that I use all the time.
