The main reason I transferred from the cingular 8700c to the TMO 8700g was the talk of their being aim, and yahoo and msn on the bb this time. can anyone confirm, cause now im hearing it isnt>? thanks

I beleive it has T-Mobile's built in AIM client which I hear isn't so great.

I'm not sure why would you switch carrier's because of that anyway.

There are plenty of third party IM solutions available which work with the 8700c.

I HAVE HAD EVERY CARRIER OUT THERE...NEXTEL I STILL HAVE GOING ON 7 YEARS STRONG, SERVICE ISNT GREAT AND THE PRICE OF THE BILL IS HIGH BUT THERES NO HIDDEN COST AND ALL THAT OTHER BULL, NEXTEL GIVES IT TO YOU STRAIGHT REGARDLESS. CINGULAR AND VERIZON DICK YOU AROUND ON THE BILL AND IT JUST ISNT RIGHT, SO WERE HOPING TO HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH TMOBILE. PLUS THE 8700G IS A LITTLE MORE UP TO DATE AND FASTER THAN THE "C".

There's really no truth to that statement as long as you do the Zen upgrade to the 8700c.

So your first post isn't actually correct then.

"the main reason I transferred from the cingular 8700c to the TMO 8700g was the talk of their being aim, and yahoo and msn"

That just didn't make sense to me. Switching because you are unhappy with the carrier overall does makes more sense.

is there a 3rd party AIM client that doesn't use T-Mobile SMS to send IM messages?

None of them use SMS (as far as I know)

Verichat, Ramble, Yak-On, IM+, Web Messenger.

They all use data.

Maybe AOL Mobile will add 8700g for AIM. How about this link http://aolmobile.aol.com/portal/newregister.do?carid=3&mfid=29000&ret_url=http%253A%2F%2Fmobile1.aol.com%2F&x=14&y=7

sorry if I did something wrong, lol, i was basically attacked in this form for just making a very true statement. I have had basically every cell phone in creation for nextel and cingular so i got a little knowledge for the new york users on whats good and whats not. Sorry that my TYPING IS CAPS is yelling, i didnt think 16 year old girls went on this forum cause thats what my little sister says when I TYPE IN CAPS... everyone have a great easter, and for most of YOU a happy rest of passover

Maybe you should listen to your sister. Learn a little forum etiquette (I know spelling, grammer and punctuation and not important to the AIM generation).

Enjoy all of your Nextel phones.

And your AIM.
