yahoo messenger data usage question

Was just curious if I leave yahoo running in the background will it eat up all my data plan (25mb) by just checking for new messages etc ?

anyone use this regularly and know how much data things like sending messages takes ?

I know this OP was posted a while ago, however does anyone have a reply to OP.

I don't have a unlimited data plan, and can't get one reasonably where I live.

If I was to leave the Yahoo Messenger on and running in the background. How much data would that use? Background data usage?

I have to pay 10 GBP per 1 Mb ($5/1Mb) where I am.
I am roaming on UK Vodafone in Japan.
