I do a lot of the set ups for my companies Blackberries and have encountered a rather interesting issue. On one of the 8700g's that we recieved monday, everytime it goes into "sleep" mode and you wake it up the screen is completly white and blank. The only way to clear this is to hard reset the phone by removing the battery for a few minutes. But of course the next time it sleeps, it happends again.

Any suggestions?

Not to sound like a smartass but how about you not make them sleep? Is it necessary to set them up to sleep? My blackberries have never slept...on 24/7/365.

I understand. But as a company we set them all up this way as a standard. This is only affecting one phone so i was seeing if anyone else has come across this issue before I send it back to T-Mobile

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

At a minimum I would try an OS reload first.

Even if you don't make them sleep, it still doesn't make sense that the white screen comes up, don't you agree?

My point exactly.

I agree with Stinsonddog. Sounds like an OS reload is needed. If you use DM and it still happens, completely wipe the OS with Javaloader, then try it again.

Sounds like it's off to a bad start, I'd send it back.

Still same thing after an OS reload. It's going back.

This issue just started happening on my BB 8700. I wonder if I should talk to Cingular or RIM??
