I have not had MMS success with my 8700c-Cingular. Sending or receiving. For example my wife sent me a MMS today with a picture she took of our daughter with her Verizon razor today. I received nothing. SMS has worked fine.

Interesting...I'm an 8700c with Cingular, too, and my friend sent me an MMS (she's on Sprint), which showed up as a text message on my phone, with a link to the picture on a wap site.

Only one I've ever gotten, though. I'm not sure if anyone else has tried to send me another one. I should test that out...

That's the same prboblem I have, except that I can receive mms messages. This baffles me. I'm kinda upset for the simple fact that I pay $15 a month for unlimited messages and I can't send them!

I thought I read the 8700c is MMS capable, but I just looked at the product description HERE (http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phones/cell-phones.jsp?q_isPrepaid=false&q_targeter=manufacturers%2FBlackBerry&WT.svl=scm1&q_deviceId=cdsku9870094&WT.svl=mod&WT.svl=spc&q_tab=features&WT.svl=ftr)
and it only lists SMS.

I haven't had any problems with sending/receiving MMS using an 8700c on T-Mobile.

Cingular has disabled MMS on the BlackBerry 8700c. T-Mobile's 8700 however works great with MMS.

I wonder what Cingular was looking to gain by not allowing MMS messages. I have successfully sent and received MMS messages with my 8700g.

Its not device specific, its network specific, 8700g/f/v/c etc on T-Mobile will support MMS, on cingular...nope

it works now, i spent 36mins on hold with Tmobile.
the rep just said he "did some research on my device" and now all of a sudden it works.

the only qualm is that when i send audio or pictures, the quality of them are both reduced.
has anyone else experienced that?

Confirmed. I just got off the phone with Cingular and they first told me the 8700 cannot do MMS. But I rephrased the question stating that other providers seem to have no problem MMS'ing, so Cingular must have disabled.

Cingular tech support agreed.

8700 can receive mms. My 8700r has no problem receiving MMS containing sound files nor those containing pictures, video, etc.

You can view vidoes on the 8700 if someone sends it thru mms?

ughh i hate the way cingular has you check mms pics from their damn website...it wouldnt be a problem if the website was a little more phone friendly, but it looks all whacked out on my 8700.
