I would try it however you have to either purchase 1 year for a single user license; monthly charges are for 5 or more.

I don't think you are correct. It is a monthly charge on your bill can be canceled a any time.

Sorry PHILTON, I tried and it says for the monthly charge, you have to have 5 licenses. They charge the whole year if you ask for only 1

Are you on some kind of a corporate BES, I did not have to do that at all.

Didn't pay attention if there was a free trial or not. If you compose lots of short emails and have the need for this type of program then I do believe it is worth it. There are definately some very convenient features in the program.

Just signed up and used it for a short time... I like it, but it's slow... Now I can seem to figure out how to cancel it... As usual NEXTEL support is clueless ... I am going to send an email to Support@<hidden> and see what happens...

I am not sure yet what this program is really for. Voice commands or just short emails by voice to text?

philton

I didn't see it listed on the website but can you use the voice control with blackberry messager?

rnwjr

Well after using it for 12 hours I sent 35 mails using the program... I was going to cancel, but after I sent an email to them I decided to keep it... It is so simple to use and I am begining to like it...

In my opinion $6.00 a month is worth it and hopefully they will lift the 20 word limit in the next few months...

Do you mean your email can only have 20 words in it?

rnwjr

Yes that is correct 20 messages at this time... MVC stated in a email to me they are working to improve upon and extend this restriction within the next two months...

Also I just posted this... FYI....

I just installed Mobile Voice Control and have noticed that my ringer no longer works after I use Bluetooth... While I don't think it's a MVC problem I believe that the Bluetooth or something else I am doing cause the ringer to stop working even after I shut the Bluetooth down. When I holster the device it does vibrate, but no audible notification... After I power down still the same problem... It does not seem to correct itself until I remove the battery... Any suggestions??? Or anyone else having similar problems?

hmm. I think I shall wait a couple of months to see how it shakes out.

I just went through the trial and I must say it is very good. The only time can I see myself really using it is when driving. I used it on a recent road trip and it worked very well. Primarily I used it to look up details of contacts then called them. True, there is a delay however when you are driving, your concentration should on the road; waiting for the voice recoginition to go through the network was not too bad. I especially liked the audible signal that it completed processing your command. This way you can say your command and not have to look or fuss with your BB until your hear the audible confirmation. Email recognition worked very well also. The only thing that would cinch it for me is the use of autotext in the email. Voice recoginition was flawless when I spelled out my autotext form letter "BBCLOSE" however it did not expand it :( Once they get this worked out, this is WELL WORTH the monthly charge. p.s. The other features like goto website, find business, etc. worked great also.

Someone from Mobile Voice Control support email me when it works, and I'll get it for my sales force ...

Been using this product for the past few days. It definitely has a coolness/geek factor to it. Weather / find business / email dictation are very useful and easy to use.

The one deal breaker for me is:
You need to be able to use a bluetooth headset to issue commands. If that were possible, this product would be unstoppable. :)

Quote from ModDevelopment website:
Does it work with Bluetooth?

No, because the manufacturer, Research In Motion, does not have an API to access the bluetooth device.

Once a phone call has been made you can then talk using bluetooth but the command must be spoken into the device

What did you like about it most? I have a 7100 and thinking about getting it again...

I installed the 3 day trial on my 7100i. It worked good except it was slow. I could live with that however everything was slow on the BB. Just accessing things on the screen manually was very slow. I couldn't stand it anymore so I uninstalled it. If it didn't affect the speed of my BB it would be a cool enhancement.
