New 8700 Not activating

My email is not activating. I have an address. I had to send one back and get a new one. I got it today.

It is just sitting there for awhile...

Is it because:
1. I am using the same email I had on the previous BB (I don't think so)
2. I needed to activate it before I installed the updated pack that includes the Zen theme? I think so

Can you help. If it is number 2, how do I go back. You have a link?

If neither, what could it possibly be. the battery is low but the green light is flashing.

got it. did a turn off no email icon. did a reboot no icon. then took out battery, the icon appeared. Needed to do this after reverting
