I didn't see it mentioned here yet, but forgive me if this is a repost.

Cingular has approved the latest 4.1 update from RIM. I believe it's actually 4.1.0.314. If I recally correctly, this updated was listed as fixing three things...including better cookie support in the browser, enhanced attachment viewing, and better support for Cingular network selection in border/fringe areas.

The download is available at h t t p://cingular.com/bbdownloads

The documents I received said the download would be available today with those fixes that I listed. I suppose it will just take a little while to update the site. Expect the update any moment now

What "documents" are you referring to?

It sounds like someone is confusing the 7100 and 8700. The latest Cing os for the 7100 is .314. Coincidence?

I think you have hit the nail on the head! :)

I could be mistaken. It was a long day at work...but this was a notice for Cingular employees that this new operating system was available to Cingular customers. It referred customers to the cingular.com/bbdownloads site I listed.

First, I wouldn't have gotten excited over a notice for the 7100 series, as I've got the 8700. Second, unless the 7100 series operating system was just updated today, there would be no reason for the Cingular site to make a note about the new OS.

I posted this information as soon as I got home, hoping someone had already tried the OS out. I didn't even think to check the site myself. Someone else at Cingular can verify the information I gave, or I'll let you know once I get to work tomorrow.

I think something is on the way. If you look at Cingular's site there is a new post (http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=rim&message.id=9159&jump=true) that links to this. The way to tell if something is new comming up by Cingular is that they usualy atart a post and in a few days it gets modified to include the proper info.

Sadly i was incorrect. I just got to work and checked the information I read yesterday and it does say 7100 series handhelds. I guess I was just too excited and too tired last night cause I even wrote down 8700...

I'm a little relieved since I just did an upgrade and had to go through the whole process of getting my BES password reset.

I'm really sorry for the confusion guys

No problem! Thanks for posting the update! :)
