I have just upgraded our BES 4.0 server to be 4.0.4.9 (SP4 HF3), we were running 4.0.3.11 (SP3 HF1).

Now every 15 minutes I am getting the following email:

BlackBerry Dispatcher CN=GBTSBB01/OU=Servers/O=Company (Application Event Log on GBTSBB01): 05/22/2006 14:55:17 (6FFFC365) -> One or more of the SRP threads is blocked

Anybody know what this means ?

Do I have to do anything or is it just a warning ?

Well I found out the hard way.

Half my users stopped gettings mails delivered to their Handhelds.

Restart server and all okay now.

I also ran into this problem...recently upgraded BES 4.0 Sp4 to Sp4 HF3.. Event ID 50021 in the app logs... lasted about 1hr 20 min... didn't reboot the server though - service restored at about 10 minutes after the last 50021..

Anyone with any ideas?

Thanks.

it is a bug in the current version of BES and will be addressed in SP5 for 4.0 and SP1 for 4.1. Here is the pertinent part of my case concerning this issue

"After reviewing the logs I was able to identify that the hung SRP threads reported by the Dispatcher service on your BlackBerry Enterprise Server on June 8th is a know issue. The Software Development Request number is SDR78610, and the fix is scheduled to be included in Service Pack 5 for BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0, we expect it's release by the end of June 2006. For now the only known workaround is to reboot the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, this also worked on your server."
