A friend is having problem getting the Internet icon on his 7230 handheld -- service is with T-Mobile and have gone through a week of their L2 support but still no icon! Any idea on what is the problem? Everything else works fine. Thanks.

To pierre1631,

Welcome aboard to BlackBerryForums.com ... I am glad you like this site! Enjoy your stay! There are lot of useful information in my BlackBerry FAQ (http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=269) if you would like to learn more, such as installing Internet software (Configuring Internet (http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=20472), BlackBerry IM FAQ (http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=25166), etc.)

To tansiell62,

Did you try re-sending your Service Books from your http://www.t-mobile.com/bwc website? (Click Profiles, then click "Send Service Book" button). Also, are you using BlackBerryOS version 4? T-Mobile just released 4.0 for the BlackBerry 7230 this week. Download Here (http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1995).

Some carriers only enable the Internet icon on newer BlackBerry models (i.e. 7100, 7290). If this is the case, you can still work around this by getting Reqwireless WebViewer (http://www.reqwireless.com) which is still faster than the BlackBerry browser.

Others carriers only enable the browser when they release the Version 4.0 operating system, and they just did it this week, so maybe it's time to try again, but see if you can do the service books yourself first and see what happens!

Thanks, Mark. Just saw the info on the newly released 4.0 in this excellent forum. Did try resending the service several times -- even had the T-mobile sales rep did it in the store. Hopefully it will now work with the 4.0. Will try the work around next. Glad I stumbled into this forum yesterday.

I have a question, I just upgraded to AT&T OS 4 upgrade over the weekend ant its 185. Is there any benefit to upgrading to TMO OS 4 version? Both version are 185.

Thanks!

Nope, they are both identical.

If you're still having trouble getting the BB bowser, you should know that t-mobile uses their tzone browser as their internet browser. Reqwireless Web viewer may be a better option for you.
