I just received a new blackberrry 8700 two days ago. Everything seemed to be working correctly. When I tried synching today it asked me for my password and every time I entered the CORRECT PASSWORD, it told me that it was incorrect?? I unplugged it from the synch cable and now all I have is a screen with a circle in the center that has what looks like a battery with a line going through it and at the bottom of the circle there are the numbers 507. Is this thing possessed ??

Any help would be appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like you handheld operating system is gone.

Go here
http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/Software_list.cfm?selDevice=22
Download the Desktop Manager Software (4.1.1.12) Handheld Version (4.1.0.284)
Install it on you computer
Plug in the 8700g and reinstall the OS.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

A few others have had this type of problem and nothing solved it. Try the OS suggestion above, it it still does not boot then you might have a corrupted 8700

A 507 means no operating system. Not a corrupted OS - a deleted one. Reload as per the instructions above.

Is it a personal Blackberry or one that your company issued? If you are running on a BES server from your company and enter your password incorrectly to many times, the Security Policy ( depending on settings ) will also wipe out your Blackberry. I have our BES to wipe the Blackberry on the 10th incorrect attempt.

But like it says above, you will need to reload the Operating System.

You are correct sir! I did not read the MORE on the wap version and did not see the error number.. My apologies! :)
