Kind of steep for a full replcement with out a battery cover ($79). I guess better then paying for a replacement.

Bet your bottom dollar in - I'm putting in my order!

The battery cover is only $10. The whole housing kit is $79.

Oh SNAP! I've been waiting for this. Do they have all the bodies or what? I want a G body for my C, do they have that - anyone know? Would be cool to get an 8707 body for my C...surely they don't have those yet.

Who has ordered, let us know what options they have.

Do you really? I hate how the edges of the G come up making the Q, A, ALT, P, DEL, and ENTER keys hard to hit. I'd much rather have the 8700r if I wanted a dark case.

Oh SNAP is right! That's awesome!

Funny, I just checked there yesterday and didn't see anything...

Great find!

From their site (http://www.promobility.net/html/blackberryparts.shtml)

NOTE: ALL HOUSING KITS & BATTERY DOORS ARE MINT/ALMOST NEW CONDITION.

$79 for full replacement plastic that isn't even new? No thanks -- sounds like a total scam. I could see spending $30 for front, back, and battery door, but at that price, I'll wait a few months for the next new handheld.

Almost new = the case came in with a phone whos insides were bad. Typically these parts come off of buyers remorse phones, which are only taken back in mint condition, or phones that were warranty shape or nothing. Anything has GOT to look better than my phone thought. Thats all I care about.

I emailed there sales departmetn this afternoon and have yet to h ear from them.

I also e-mailed and have not heard back.

Look forward to hearing which 8700 bodies they have, and especially look forward to feedback from the first intrepid soul that tries a cross-fertilisation (for example, 8700c in an 8700g body).
I also think it's a bit too much to hope for an 8707 body just yet...

I ordered a case a year or so ago from Promobility for my old 7290. They sent me an obviously used case which I promptly returned. A month or so after that, they emailed me and said that they had all new cases in, but I was no longer interested in doing business with them. They should differentiate between their new and used products.

Has anyone change their body already? I would like to see how hard it would have been.

FYI - got the promobility 8700c case today. It looks fine. It does however, have the square moisture indicator activated already.

Whoops! guess we know how they get there cases...... Interesting. It doesnt make a difference because by replacing the housing, you are voiding your warranty.
