What do the different colors on the notification LED represent? I have seen blue, red, and green, but I can't find anything in the documentation that describes the different color's functions.

when my 8700 is off and it is charging, it flashes green until fully charged, then it is solid green.

I too turned off green signal indicator. Wish you could customzie...such as green-sms/mms, red-email.

and my turn now _:)
if red is flashing at normal speed then you has message/email/sms
if it is flashing at faster speed then you have a chat request from yahoo IM etc.

Does this only happen when the 8700 is off? Maybe I'm not charging long enough but I have never had it at a steady green while charging with it on.

Blue is for when you are connected to bluetooth, red is when you have no service and green is when you have service.
