Just got my my BB 7520 and I'm looking for 3rd party apps to replace my Palm apps. The one I miss most is a little program that lets you keep track of all your vehicle maintance and fuel records and also calulates your mileage. Anyone know of a program for the BB 7520 that will do that.

I am not 100% sure, but if you cannot find any, you may wish to try using a spreadsheet for this purpose. An advantage is that you can import it back to your desktop relatively easily as an Excel XLS file. And you can use formulas on the BlackBerry spreadsheet.

There are two spreadsheets for BlackBerry: miniexcel and eCell

Yep, that was my thinking also but didn't know I could import to my desktop. How is that done and can you creat the spreadsheet on you desktop first and import to your BB

For eCell, it uses the eFile module which provides a BlackBerry filesystem (files and folders) which you can synchronize between a Windows folder and a BlackBerry folder over the USB cable. At least that is my understanding of the eFile module by Dynoplex. This includes Microsoft Excel XLS files, which you can definitely edit on your BlackBerry using eCell. Also, for eCell in particular, I think you can also send XLS files as attachments through the BES, I believe, and save it on your BlackBerry, although I don't know about BWC. (Which means if you don't know what BES is, you're probably not using BES). So you'll likely be synchronizing the XLS files back and forth over the USB cable using the BlackBerry Desktop synchronization module (eFile provides a BlackBerry desktop sync module)

Not sure how you import/export from miniexcel though.

eFile program: Free! Can also act as an "Acrobat Reader" for BlackBerry too.

eCell program: Dynoplex charges for it. A free trial is available, I believe.
