I have been a happy 7100T user and just upgraded to the 8700G which I receive in a week or two.

Just a few questions:

1)It would be nice to be able to migrate my address book, autotext and custom word list from my 7100T to the new 8700g. My 7100T runs the 4.0.2.49 Tmobile OS. When I get my 8700g can I selectively restore these select items from a full 7100t backup? Should I backup the 7100T with the desktop manager that comes with the 8700g. I obviously don't want to do anything to corrupt a brand new device?

2)I understand that the Tmobile 8700g OS includes the patches and features of the "Bharti" version of the OS. Is the "Zen" theme included with this OS, or do I need download it from somewhere? Any upgrades suggested upon receiving the new device?

3)Is the OZ IM client the same mediocre client that I have on my 7100T that uses SMS messages to communicate? Are there any good free IM options now or should I renew my licence to verichat.

Thanks in advance

Yes you can, by going to backup/restore, advance, and drag in the selected backup file.

You can use either version.

http://blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=26764 follow that link if you want the ZEN theme.

I don't know for sure because I have the 8700C and not 8700G, but my guess is yes. I would most definitely renew verichat, nothing compares.

I just did this same upgrade for a user (7100t-8700G--the 7100t was on OS 4.1, though). It went quite smooth. We used the advanced feature in the Backup/Restore function. If you are on a BES then many of the files will not restore since they are synced with the BES server but those that don't sync wirelessly will be restorable. Definitely don't forget "content store" if you want your pictures and ringtones.
