I did a search for: 8700g reboots randomly (since that's my issue) and nothing came up soo....

Just recently my blackberry 8700g will randomly reboot. And it will take a long time for it to do so too.

I'll be I don't know.. typing a text, typing an IM, playing a game, looking up something on the web etc.

And then black screen, a few seconds later hourglass. And about 5 minutes later it will verify security software.

There isn't a real problem, and everything works fine. I'm just wondering why the constant random reboots. I think 2 days ago I got it about 3 times in the span of an hour.

Any help?

Thanks.

definitely not normal. Why not send it in for servicing?

You always in the same location when this happens? Maybe the cell is faulty and causing the BlackBerry to crash...

I have also seen this with my new 8700G blackberry. This is suspiciously like the 7100T reboots when that device came out.

No that time when it happened 3 times in like one hour I was driving so I was moving from place to place =P.

Not sure what it is, I guess I'll call t-mobile on my way home and see if they can fix it or send me a new one. Which will make me sad because then I'll have to reload everything and redo all my configurations =(

If you back it up using the Desktop Manager backup utility, then you should be able to restore it to a replacement device. It only seems to miss a few aspects of a device's config.
