BIS BES Etc

ok i have done some searching but cant really find an answer...what is the point of BIS and BES and the others ppl talk about...i just use my .blackberry.net email what is that? could someone please clear this up!!!!! THANKS!!! im soo lost(y)

your @<hidden> email is your BIS account. When using BES, you gain additional features that you otherwise would not have.

BIS = Blackberry INTERNET Service
BES = Blackberry ENTERPRISE Service

Enterprise covers email like Exchange, Notes, etc., and has full wireless look-up capabilities with the Exchange Global Address Book as well as synchronization with your Outlook Contacts, Tasks, Calendar, and Notes/Memos.

Internet depends on the version of BIS your provider is running, although most are on Version 2 now, has limited email sync capabilities, and no sync for the other PIM items (as far as I know!).

Hosted access to a BES is the way to go if you want to spend the extra $20 or so a month. Mail2Web offers it for around $12, but the support isn't terrific.
