I've been playing around with the beta version of MS Office 2007. With the older versions of Office, you can view Word,Excel and Powerpoint files on the BB. Two questions re:the new version:
1. When will RIM release an update to support the new file formats (.docx,.xlsx,.pptx)?
2. Can you open a document created in Word 2007 but saved as the older format (.doc)? When I try to open the doc it says that the file type is not recognized.

Curious to know if anyone else is messing with MS Office 2007 and BB's.

I have been using Office 2007 for a bit now. I save everything as .doc files so non 2007 users can open the files that I send them. Use the save as function to convert your existing files and when you create new files when saving be sure to select the Office 97 - Office 2003 compatibility choice.

I have saved the files in Word 97-Word 2003 compatible format and it still does not allow me to view the docs on my BB. Any other suggestions?

I'm just curious, but do you really view MS Office attachments on your 8700? I find Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files to look horrible when opened on my 8700 - so much so that it's not even useful because it looks so bad.

If a document ois sent using Office 2007 it will not open. If you send the same document using Outlook 2003 it will download file and open. I have an 8100. Could you save a document on the media card and open it?

thanks,
