I was just wondering, what text messaging package, if any, were Cingular customers using?

im on the old 1000sms for $9.99.

i actually just sent a complaint to cingular about these new messaging "bundles". they are a ripoff for us blackberry users... they are bundling things into this that we can't even use or are already paying for with our data service. Instant Messaging and MediaNet usage we are already paying for, while picture and video messaging are things we can't really even use (with the exception of incoming picture messages).

That's what I have been thinking about doing...we should really start a petiton or take some kind of action against Cingular's text messaging plan for Blackberry users.

amen. i first started out on the 250 (or 200, whatever it used to be) and went over.. and decided to change to the 1000sms. i'm glad i did it before they introduced this bundled garbage. 500-600sms for $5-7/mo package would be ideal for me..

Pay as you go. $0.10 message. I'd need to send and receive at least30 messages to break even with the $2.99/50msg plan. I get and receive 1-4 a month. So I'll just pay the $0.10 or $0.40 and be done with it.

My wife has the $4.99/200msg plan. But truth be told she used 53 last month and about the same the month before. Before that is was 12msg the first month. So I've paid $15. Had I been on the $3 plan, I'd paid $9+ 0.60 in overages for $9.60. On the $0 plan, I'd be out 118 x $0.10 or $11.80. So I'm overpaying by being on the plan. I just wanted to get a feel for how many she'd need. 200 is too many. 50 is fine. Even 0 at $.10 is cheaper than buying too many. I was just trying to avoid overages, but I'm hemorrhaging $$$ by overestimating.

I imagine this is different for everyone else. but these are how things are in my household.

actually the bundle would be good fo rmy wife as it includes MMS and SMS. Here friends send her a few picture messages (MMS) a month. I think these were $0.40 each. too bad the $5 bundle doesn't include 1-2MB of MEdia Net. I wife uses a couple KB each month. But it's only a new cents a KB anyway.

Actually bundles are good. We just need to convince cingular to add the SMS/MMS to the BB plans (already include WAP and TCP). It would be nice if the Messages were a penny apiece, but at least they are something stupid like a buck apiece!

I don't mind the itemized bill (everything a la cart and pay-per=use) as long as it keeps my bill lower. Sure the total bill fluctuates a little, but it isn't bad. It least I not getting $1502 overage charge from Rogers or something! LOL

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I'm on the $9.99 for 1000. Been on it since I've been with Cingular and even before I had the BlackBerry.

I also have the $9.99/mo 1k text messaging package. I have to have it. And to be honest, I'm paranoid about going over that. I've been averaging about 900 or so SMS during the past three or four months.

Cingular charges way too much for what it offers and the lack of unlimited messaging is annoying. You can pay less with T-Mobile or Sprint and get unlimited SMS/MMS and unlimited data. Bleh.

I'm glad I got my Blackberry when I did because I got the text package I have just a few weeks before they rolled out the new ones. So, I have the best of both worlds.

Have I told you guys lately how much I love my Blackberry? Hmm? I have? Oooh. I mean, I'll pay whatever amount I have to in order to have it working in all its messaging glory.

Hey there,
I'm a newbie..bought my first BB yesterday. I have the 8700c and I'm paying for the 4.99 for 200 msgs. It's a rip off and should be included in the unlimited data package.

10 cents per message received (I use the nifty SMS Between BlackBerry & Other Cell Phones (http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=731) method to send messages).

Pay as you go.
Same here. I mostly message my wife and she has an 8700c so we just PIN each other instead.

I'm on the 200 msg plan, however much that costs. I don't know if I use more or less. I figure I send about 5-6 texts a day, over 30 days, that would equal to 150-180 which is why I got the 200 msg plan.
