Odd Problem with 7290

I have a Rogers 7290(unlocked), and gave it to my friend in Australia, he currently has a blackberry plan, and swapped the sim card.

Odd problem,

He can send me a message with no problems, but I cannot send messages back to him..

Anyone got any ideas?

Are you using the appropriate country code prefix?

Its all Pin to Pin... not SMS. and he is on a blackberry plan.
