I have removed the clip from the 8700 OEM holster (the "Launcher") and use it for pocketing. (The Seidio holster is my main carry.)
At night I charge my newest 8700 from the adapter. My 8700 is on my night table so that I can receive calls. Bacause I use PocketDay with the Backlight on Message Receive utility enabled, my screen will periodically light up as news alerts and such arrive. This can be annoying when I'm in that half-asleep state. Turning the utility off every night and on again in the morning would not be convenient.
A solution I am now using is to have the 8700 in the Launcher while it is charging overnight. Can anyone think of a reason why this would be a problem? I assume that charging with the sleeper magnet active would be okay.
