Has anyone ever received a message like this from RIM? I received it on 7/20/06 along with a ETP.DAT file attached. Can anyone tell me what it means?

"This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

Looks to me to be some sort of encrypted message - a photo maybe?

Or a virus?

I received those a long time ago when I first registered my 7100 back in October. Even though it says not to delete it I did and never had any problems.

I wonder if it's some sort of Spam or virus intended to stay on the device and "spy" ?

All these replies and not one contained a reprimand about not searching before asking. The people on this forum are going soft

It's not spam.
It's not a virus.
It's not a photo.
It's not encrypted....

I am *almost* stunned by some of these responses...
