i'm have my gmail account forward my emails to my tmo.blackberry account. the icon for this is called gmail on my blackberry. all replies are setup to show the gmail address.

i would like to add a tmo.blackberry icon so that i can communicate/reply only with certain people under my tmo.blackberry address.

when i go to add another email account under 'setup internet email' it asks for the email address (which is my name at tmo.blackberry.net). what i don't know is the password for this email. i went on mytmobile.com and could not find the password.

did i miss something? how do i get/create the password in order to use the tmo.blackberry email address on it's own?

thanks

I think I understand what you're trying to do, and I think it's not possible. As far as I can tell (please correct me if I'm wrong!) you would like to:

(1) Have Gmail forwarded to your @<hidden> account and show your @<hidden> address as the "From" address when you reply

AND

(2) Have a separate account where you can actually send from the @<hidden> address.

As I understand BIS, this separation is not possible to setup as you already HAVE configured your @<hidden> account to act like your gmail. (Does that make sense?)

You may consider setting up Gmail as a POP/polling account and then just use your @<hidden> account as you described.

Good luck!

Hi Scott.

Thank you for your reply. Yes you are correct. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I think I will leave the Gmail account since it is my primary. I wanted the tmo.bb.net email address only for a select few people. It will not be a problem for me though.

Thanks again for clearing that up for me I really appreciate it!

Also, when composing an email with your BB, you can scroll up to the "Send Using:" field. Click the wheel and select "change option". You can then select the email address of your choice to send from, if you have set up mutiple email addresses with your BB.

Am I missing something here? From what I understand this was not possible. I don't see any option like this.

I remember another thread where someone linked some 3rd party app that would allow you to change your reply to address.

Anyone have this link? I couldn't find it via the search.

Thanks

this only works if you have multiple emails set up on your BB
from my understanding you only have the 1 - with your Gmail forward to it
therefore you won't see this

Im assuming that you forwarded your gmail to your tmo.bb.net address so that your gmail becomes essentially pushed instead of polled....but since the rollout of BIS 2.1 on t-mo, you get pushed gmail....

so my suggestion would be to setup gmail by itself and then setup the tmo.bb.net address by itself, allowing you to reply to either one with out the need of forwarding gmail to tmo.bb.net

essentially you'll have two email accounts on your bb - your gmail and your tmo.bb.net.

Thanks for your replies  That sounds perfect.

so if I setup the gmail by itself, would i still get hose emails on my bberry within seconds or will it check for new emails every 10 minutes? ideally i would like both emails (gmail/tmo.bb.net) to arrive instantly.

please let me know. thanks. oh and btw how can i tell if i have BIS 2.1?

thanks again for your help.

Gmail emails will arrive on your blackberry instantly if your account is on BIS 2.1.

If your bb account does not have inbox you are on BIS 2.
If your bb account is on BIS 2, you have BIS 2.1.

That's how mine is set up and it does work great.

and:

It should still work, with him having the choice of gmail or blackberry address.

i deleted what i previously had and set-up 2 seperate emails via mytmobile.com (super easy btw). i now have my tmo.bb.net and gmail seperate and i tested both last night. came in within seconds and I couldn't be happier

i may add my yahoo (sbcglobal.net) address but i'm worried that all the annoying spam will just bombard me all day.

thanks again for all your assistance.

actually Yahoo! w/ BIS 2.1 doesn't send much SPAM to your BB - any aSPAM that's in my SPAM folder doesn't get sent over - it's only the stuff that manages to slip under Yahoo!'s radar that does

so i'm assuming sbcglobal would be the same

At my.t-mobile.com one can configure even POP3 (work or others) email accounts.
Setting up POP3 needs to be done online in two steps as the POP3 server has to be put in.
TMO allows one to setup as they phrase it- 'bring together up to 10 personal and work e-mail
accounts all on your BB handheld'. (y)
I actually have about 6 different email accounts -work, gmail and yahoo- all pushing-email to my BB.
And yes, thankfully Yahoo and Gmail have been great in filtering out spam!
