receive e-mails? I do not want ALL my e-mails going to my Blackberry -- only when I am away from my Desktop. Is this even possible with Blackberry? I have searched but can't seem to come up with an answer to this.

You use the redirector to do this. I use it at night and on the weekends when I am not in the office. I just turn it on as I leave in the evening and turn it off when I come in in the morning.

If you're using the Desktop Manager (PC application) you should be able to configure it so that you don't get your messages redirected to your BB while it's connected to your desktop.

1. Launch the Desktop Manager
2. Double-click on Redirector Settings
3. Under the general tab, check the option "Disable message redirection while your device is connected"

Keep in mind if you are set up on BIS, don't use redirector. You will encounter problems. Enabling redirector is perfect if you are on a BES.

I do not have a BES -- I have a BIS.

Not possible with BIS...The only solution for you would be logging into BIS delete the email account when your're at your desktop and then re-added the email account when you want to start receiving emails again to the BB.
Pain in the A$$.

I do that 5 days a week, nothing wrong with me taking 2 minutes tops to do this and getting a confirmation email on my BB to show that it works, but to each their own.

or you can just set your main filter to not forward to the handheld while at work - then set it to forward when you leave (that way you don't have the 20 min delay from adding a new account)

If you are using Outlook or some mail reader software on your desktop at work, then you can set your Outlook to DELETE the messages from your mail server. When you have Outlook open and running at your office, it will download and delete messages from your mail. Set Outlook check for mail like every 2-3 mins or less.

When you leave your desktop, close Outlook, and your mail will be there for your BB to get.

Now, with this solution, there is the odd chance that every now and then you will receive the odd e-mail to your BB when it might coincidentally check for mail at the same time as Outlook.
