Just curious how many of you would jump ship on your carrier to have the new hotness???

I actually am I think. I come from the flip-phone world of Verizon and am looking forward to having fun with a different type of device, specifically the 8700g from TMO. That and the fact that Verizon's data plan price is crazy compared to TMO's $19.99 a month. I don't switch carriers based on devices but in this case the switch is worth it I think.

NO switching, I am with the best company out there already, T-Mobile...

Some people may not be able to do that because they are under a contract.

Besides, I am happy with T-mobile because they have the best prices.

I'm with T-mobile, and I'd switch in a heartbeat. The plans are good, but service is horrible in my area. Our entire sales force is replacing their T-mobile with Verizon and Cingular.

I dropped my great coverage with Verizon so I can get the 8700 with Cingular. The coverage is not as good...but good enough. Although I think the 8700g looks cosmetically better than the 'c', T-Mobile's coverage stinks (in Atlanta anyway).

If (when) the 8700 or equivalent comes to Verizon, I'll probably switch back unless Cingular offers the same incentive/rebates for a phone upgrade.

I switched from Cingular to TMO because of the Amazon deal back in April.

Probably not since Cingular's coverage in my area better serves my needs (not to mention the remainder of the contract).

I have gotten burned too many times with a .0 release. 7100t issues, 7130e issues. Currently a T-Mobile 8700 user and may switch if the 7130 ever comes out but that will be device and NOT carrier (and a proven reliable handheld OS)

I did the same. Couldn't stand the poor network (for my area) and went back to VZW. Will get the 8703 in September.

Wouldn't switch carriers, but would invest some effort into getting an unlocked device from another carrier and setting it up on my existing service.

I wouldn't switch either, I am very happy with TMO

Wirelessly posted (Thumpers 8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Note the lack of happiness with Cingular (save one).

I left Sprint for a device (8700c). I have been so displeased with the service (call quality, dropped calls, strange dtmf tones durring calls) I plan to switch and keep the same advice (waiting for Sept and the 8703 for Sprint). Contracts don't matter that much - only takes $150 to break them, and some providers are giving so much rebate to compensate - or even buy out the clause. Fewest dropped calls - right. Never had one 'till I switched.

I had an LV 9800 "The V" on Verizon and was paying like 60$ a month to get it to do what the BB does and it didn't even do it well. I paid the termination fee just to jump ship last week to T-mobile and haven't looked back. Now I pay 60$ for unlimited data and 1500 minutes. So much better!

If anyone is thinking about switching contracts but is stuck in their current contract check out wirecracker.com. They are supposed to be pretty good at getting you out of your contract for 50$.

Has anyone actually used wirecracker.com?

Sounds a little suspicious.

I'd love to do it though. I don't feel like waiting till December to be able to upgrade my phone.
