I picked up a 8707v in Smartone-Vodafone today. After I left the shop, I found out the TCP option is missing from the menu. The BB does function as a modem with a laptop, but I do need TCP on the BB so that I could run Verichat. Anyone has any hints on how to fix this?

The 8707 has no TCP stack. We're all waiting for the fix.
All connectivity would be managed via MDS in the meantime.
There are much better answers than this & lots of discussion here. Just put 8707 in the search field above.

Cheers,

Pete

Hey Guys,

any news on an update for the 8707v that fixes this problem?

Thanks

Apparently there is a new OS version out that has this enabled. Its the Starbub version from what I read on here. No idea where to get it, however. I will look around a bit.

Here it is:

StarHub OS Link (https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=5807A685D1A9AB3B599035BC566CE2B9)

I have not loaded it on my 8707v yet, so I cannot confirm or deny if it adds the TCP stack. But others have said it does. I will probably load it tomorrow if I get the chance.
