Hey, everyone

Thanks for a great forum.

Quick question: I just picked up a BB 7250 from Verizon. And I think I'm in love. But alas, I hear VZW is coming out with their own 87XX, probably the 8703, in late September/early October. Do I return the 7250 and wait for the 8703? Or is the 7250 stout enough to ride out of town with on a two-year contract?

I think the only things I'm missing with my 7250 is: 1) speakerphone 2) camera 3) memory card slot, and maybe a few other minor things.

Any input would be appreciated. And please don't flame me. I'm still trying to figure out how to tickle my new best friend, the BB 7250.

Best,

Doc Holmes

Personally, I'd wait for the 87XX. It's really up to your personal opinion.

option94,

Can you tell me why _you_ would wait for the 8703? Any input would be appreciated. BTW, love the part of Florida you live in, visited there many times.

Yes; have you seen one or do you have the exact specifications and costs of one?

I don't think the 8703 has plans for a camera or memory card slot. You'd only gain a speakerphone.

No I haven't seen one. I just don't like the 7520, and the 8703 will probably be a much better device. Speakerphone is pretty important to me as well, I don't like Bluetooth so that's the only hands free I use. it's only my opinion.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I haven't seen any "real" pics of the VZW's 87XX, only the PSed frankensteins a few folks have thrown out there. I have a real hard time thinking VZW will bring out another BB device, they currently offer two, that wouldn't be distinguished by more than a speakerphone. But, heck, that's just my opinion.

I guess what I wanted to know is if there were any "spies" that had the inside line on Verizon's 8700 device so I could make an informed decision. But ain't that the way? You buy the neatest device you can find and a week later it's usurped by a meaner, faster, stronger version.
