Cingular is selling it for 299 on their website but I notice wirefly.com sells it for 179 with a qualified plan and will rebate the 179 as well after service is established.

I wasn't sure about wirefly and didn't know if anyone had any experience with them?

It also appears amazon.com will sell it for .01 with new activation.

with wirefly and amazon you really have to pay attention to the fine print. I've heard stories of people being locked in to ridiculous rate plans with them.

Like the other poster says, beware. If you are getting the phone for cheap, they are making it up with sticking you with an expensive plan or longer plan term. You got to really be careful and if it looks to good to be true, watch out!

Not to metion that a lot of accounts get messed up with sites like wirefly and things. I also heard that the rebate was after like 6mos of service or something like that.

I NEVER get my devices from anything other than a Cingular store. To me, the headaches that I could incur doing business with a place like Wirefly or Amazon are just not worth saving that extra money

Good luck,

I got my 8700c with cingular for 150 but it is refurbished. I have not had any problems with it. You have it order it online. I am pretty sure you need to sign a 2 year contract though.

Buying from cingular online is usually the safest way, but dont try to port a number through the online system. Nothing but headaches.
