When you out the orange sim in the phone what does it say? If its not locked it should pick up the network and be no problem.

That means that you don't have a blackberry data plan on your orange account. You need to call orange and have them out it on, then that message will go away and everything will work.

I go to the Orange shop ( they trade mark shop ) , I put a data sim card in my device and won`t go ! Blackberry makes different Blackberry to different country ? Blackberry for USA who works only in USA , Blackberry for France who works only in France , etc...my device won`t work in Romania because he made for Belgium ( Mobistar network ) ?? The only solution on my problem is to buy a Blackberry made for our market ????

The devices aren't country specific. If the data is provisioned correctly it will work. It needs to be a blackberry specific data plan.

Maybe we don't understand each other. If you have an unlocked blackberry, it will work with any GSM carrier. If you can make voice calls, that proves that the phone works. You need to have a blackberry specific data plan active on your account for the data services to work. The message data connection refused means that their is no data plan.

You`re right ! That`s mean Orange Romania refused to give me a data plan on any other device then only their devices sales in shops...Hmmm...to prove this , I must buy a Blackberry from Orange , a data plan and try on my Belgium Blackberry...right ??

That sounds like an expensive way to prove that.

Yes. You should get the enterprise activation icon, ygr web browser, and data connection refused won't show up.

It's not just the right SIM card. It is a SIM card with a BlackBerry Data Plan on it - that is very, very important. You could take a US SIM card with a BlackBerry Data Plan on it and it might work - depending on roaming agreements - but then you'd have a US phone number, and pay huge roaming fees.

If Orange won't add the BlackBerry Data Plan to your account, you may have to buy a local BlackBerry.

It's not so different here. Some carriers do not allow "foreign" BlackBerrys on their network.

cingular allows use in other countries. the simple transfer of the simcard may not allow another BB to work on the data plan. they can track by pin number. If the enterprise activation is used won't that transfer to the new pin? Then you would have to get it back to the old BB.

simple solution may be hard to come by

Yes , but if Orange want to sale its own device ?? ...what can I do ?? My Blackberry is not accepted in their network and that`s the way to force me to buy a new device...it`s a full pack : Black and data plan...weird stuff...maybe I must email the Dark Side of Orange...just kidding...

First of all, Orange doesn't sell BB devices for personal use in Romania. They sell to business users -hence they will sell the BES also. That's probably the reason they are not selling you a SIM card with BB data capability.
You should be able to use a data card to see your web mail accounts(yahoo or others) if you have a web browser on your device. The original BB browser doesn't show if the device is not activated.(Maybe somebody knows how to activate the browser...).The only way I know is to buy a compatible browser from internet and to instal it.This way you will not have real time e-mail, but is better than nothing....
You should try to activate your phone using Blackberry Internet Service and see what is happening.(I have no spare unit right now to try it myself)
Let me know if it works.

Good luck!
