No. You can't IMM someone with a different I'm service. MSN needs MSN, yahoo needs yahoo, AIM needs AIM.

From your Blackberry, you can't. But from your computer, you could.

Get yourself a free Yahoo! account. Then download the Yahoo! IM for BlackBerry and use it on your 7290.

Cheers everyone.

I've tried to download the MSN messenger on my BB but somehow I've been unable to. It takes forever and then I get an error. Has anyone successfully downloaded the MSN messenger on their BBs? If so, can ya tell me how to do it?

As far as I am aware there is not an MSN Messenger Client available for BlackBerry yet. With some hacking Google Talk is a good MSN Client that you can use on your BlackBerry.

as Pizzle points out, in the PC world, you can IM persons on Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger) from Yahoo Messenger and vice versa, provided you both have the latest versions of clients from the respective company and you have signed up for the beta (usually done from within the client - on Yahoo, its in the form of a hint, and in Live, the link is available when you try to add a new buddy; requires a restart of the client).

also, if your company is federated for IM services with Microsoft LCS, then Office Communicator supposedly works perfectly for all services. we'll have our federation completed in the next few weeks and I'll test it out from the Enterprise Messenger client (although I'm doubtful it will work, but who knows).

I'd recommend downloading IM+ from ShapeServices.com ... it's about $40, but it's only a one-time fee, and it lets you sign onto AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google, and Jabber at the same time.

ICQ, AIM and MSN are also accessible via Yak-On. I'm currently signed in to my Windows Live and AIM accounts. I don't use Yahoo all that much....

I tried downloading the yak-on but was unsuccessful. Can anyone recommend something else? I use a BB 8700 G.
