Unlocking 8700g - Manually

Hi,

Is it possible to unlock it by yourself via following some sort of "how-to" doc. Does anyone know where I can find out how to. I tried searching here but no luck. People at my work are telling you can do this...so I would like to try it on my 8700g for a GSM network in Canada.

Or is it better to pay the $40 and get it done remotely by somone?

Step 1 - Get the Unlock code - there are tons of therads already out on this. Either get the carrier to give it to you or pay for it

Step 2 - Follow the instructions that you should get from the carrier or unlocker

No need to send it away.. That was the old days. Like a year ago ;-)

You can't do it without the code. There isn't a how to...on unlocking

Paying the $40 is your best bet. Unless you can convince your carrier to unlock it for you.
