I have a BB 7100g and have been experiencing random lock-ups with the phone. For now reason, the signal indicator light will turn red and the phone will lock-up. In some cases it resumes operation but in most cases I have to remove the battery and power up. The screen displays an hour glass and it appears to be in a hibernation mode. Once the phone powers up a message "Validating Security Settings" appears and then its back to normal.
This problem is more prevalent if there is any heat on the phone. Simply having it in the holster while outside in 80 F weather creates the lock-up.
Any suggestions?
