ok, so I got a 7100t a few weeks ago, and I feel like every time i give my phone a dirty look it decides to get scratched up again. I bought an automotive scratch remover that actually works wonders, but the screen keeps getting scratched up. I think its time to get some sort of plastic guard for the screen? which brand should I go with?

Where do you get scratch removers? And is it universal? I've got the 7130e.

Go right to Screenguardz web site and buy them. They custom fit the 7100t. I bought them right after I got my 7105t and they are terrific. I go change them out aboiut every 6-8 weeks. Over a year with the 7105t and no scratches on the scrren. Wish I could say the same for the case!

or.. try "the invisible shield" found at:

shieldzone.com/category/pda/

Quite honestly the absolutely most durable screen protector i have ever used. I dont have any affiliation with the company.. .just a very, very satisfied customer/user. I never go ANYWHERE without my BB... and as a result it has seen it's share of slips, skids, drops, falls etc. The housing looks well worn... (it has character) but the screen is as clear as the day i took it out of the box. As an aside and somewhat interestingly... with the i shield the outdoor screen visibility seems better to me.

Anyway.. check it out... or not...

just my opinion....

one interesting note, that I got a vertical scratch in my 7130e screen before I could get the screen guard on (shieldzone .. worked great for my gps so ordered one for my bb)... the scratch was very visible in that it would deform the transmission of the light from the screen so that it almost gave a 'magnifier' effect along the length of the screen. very annoying, but I tried to buff it out, but not with any product.

I was leaving on a trip and had not yet applied the screen guard and had to make a decision - do I apply the guard before I buff out the scratch, and risk that I will see it forever, or do I leave the shield off, give myself some time to buff it out before applying the guard, but risk more scratches on my trip.

I decided to apply the shield before buffing out the scratch. I cleaned the screen as best is possible w/ an automotive detail spray I had (not a scratch remover, but even finer - a cleaner). the scratch was not totally gone, but was a little better, and I applied the shieldzone.

to my amazement, the scratch was no longer visible!!! I'm not sure why - I expected it to be as visible as before, and maybe even more so..same 'magnifier affect'. however, for some reason, the combination of the shieldzone application spray and the film served to hide the scratch. So I got the sheild and didn't see my scratch anymore!

I'm not saying this will happen for you, but in having to make the call and risking putting the shield over the scratch, it 'fixed it'.

Just thought I'd share this b/c it was very unexpected and a very good surprise!

fyi, I have no affiliation w/ shieldzone or anything like that, and am not saying it can cover scratches, but thought this was an interesting results.

That happened to me today! Only 40 hours of babying it and I notice a small, minute scratch on the battery. I'm so pissed.

Can't wait for the screen protector to come in wednesday.

Is the Shieldzone protector like a piece of film or is it a little more durable?
Thanks!

To update. I went with the shieldzone. I am very happy. It is thicker than most screen protectors. It was 9.99 and has a lifetime waranty.

Don't even waste your time with that Clarivue crap. used them before and you need to go to Best Skins Ever Storefront (http://www.bestskinsever.com) and get a full body shield or screen shield at minumum. You absolutely must get something that is going to "stick" to the screen for it to be any good. They're only about $4.99 and will last a lot longer than a shield that is not stuck on with some type of adhesive. The Clarivue and Martin-fields type guards are absolutely worthless. don't let the water thing scare you, you only need a VERY thin amount of water on the piece when you attach it to your device. I speak from experience, the best skins ever is the best guard on the market, hands down. And I've used a lot.....

Or, you could go to a local Best buy, etc. and pick up a screen guard for a PSP, or Nientendo DS for $4.99 and cut it to fit. I find them the same quality as the Web custom ones, much cheaper, and available locally. One brand is made by boxwave!!

I just upgraded from Tmo 7105t to Cingular 7130c and I was looking for new screen protector. I decided to try the Sheildzone because it does not need to be replace every month or so. I also picked one up for my Palm TX.

I read somewhere months back (this is my first time on the forum in awhile) that ScreenPatronus Rocks. the absolute best for JUST the screen protector. Is that still true???? Or is there another one now?

As far as if you want a whole body one, (which I don't because I am gonna get the seidio one and most say only the screen is needed) then the invisible shield is AWESOME. But my experience differs a little from others. You do need water for the Best Skins Ever or the spray for Invisible Shield (or vice versa) but you should not be afraid to soak it, then hold it up and drip off for a second. then lay down, spread out the bubbles then do not touch for a day
