Hello all,

I've just obtained my first Blackberry - a 7230 - and although I am very impressed with it I do have one issue (you'll have to excuse me if the answer is really obvious but I am a Blackberry newbie!). So, the problem is that my SMS messages keep automatically deleting themselves. Sometimes it's after they are about a day old but this evening I had five (all from the same person) and my responses (ie. sent SMS's) delete themselves within a couple of hours. These were actually the only SMS messages on the the Blackberry so I doubt that I had too many messages stored, or did I?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for the reply, but I know that's where they are kept and they have all disappeared. In OPTIONS > SMS there is an option that states 'Leave messages on SIM Card'. This was switched to 'OFF' by default. Do you think turning it on will help?

My problem is that when I receive a SMS or MMS it goes missing even though I get the alert. and the only way I can see them is if I hit ALT+I.
How do you get them to always show up in your inbox????? I own a 8100

indy,
Yes leaving them on SIM card will save them, make sure you periodically access the sim and delete older messages.
