Hello all,

I currently have a BB 7290 on Cingular. The device is set up to sync with my BES 4.1 account in the office.

I recently added a BIS account (via https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular) to the device. While I can receive email to the emailaddress@<hidden>, my device will not allow me send messages from the mycingular email address.

Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Your BES server pushed an IT Policy to your device. Your employeer has forced all outbound email to pass through their email system. Unless you can get a different policy added to your account, there is nothing you can do. Often times this is done for SOX or HIPPA requirements.

i know on nextel you can change it by going to options/advance options/message service and change it to which ever and that will make it send from that email. try it on yours

That's why some folks carry more than one Blackberry. If there's an IT Policy on your unit then you're out of luck without them changing it for you.
