Will it work with my mac?

Does anyone know if the pearl will work with my Apple Powerbook, with bluetooth ? And would I be able to use it as a modem? Is the EDGE like broadband ?

Possibly yes for BT as a mountable disc rumor has it. Modem is still a no go.

According to several of the gadget sites(engadget,etc.), It will be able to function as tethered modem.But I wonder if I'll be able to use it with my mac.

No idea about Bluetooth, but most BlackBerry handhelds work with Macs now through PocketMac software.

It stands to reason the software should work with newer models.

PocketMac and bluetooth only with the PocketMac Pro version. They don't show the 8100 as a supported device yet but I'll give 'em some slack since it's not even out yet. Mac/Intel support is not official yet either but updates are said to be imminent.
