8100 Charging via USB

I got a 8100 this morning already at the Hawthorne mall in the Chicago burbs for $350 without contract.

My question is around charging. I tried to plug it into my computer to charge using my existing BB desktop and USB cable and I'm getting an error that it doesn't have enough power from my USB port and to check the software and port, etc. What are the requirements? Do I have to upgrade my BB Desktop??

Where can I download BB Desktop 4.2 online? I don't have a CD rom on my box.

It will be available here Software Downloads - T-Mobile SE Site (http://software.se.t-mobile.com/) but it is not up yet, so sorry you're outta luck till you get to a cd-rom

On the left hand side go to Download, then Service Packs
Then choose Desktop manager 4.2
