Looks like in OS > 4.1 one can hold down the talk key to pull up the address book. This appears to be a "call only" address book. There is no way to compose an SMS, Email or SMS from this list. :( So in order to get a fast address book up, I'm forced to use one of my convenience keys to display "contacts".
Where can we send suggestions to RIM? This should be an easy update, in general we should always be able to communicate with a contact in any manner that is associated with their record (phone, email, pin, sms, etc) whenever we view their name and press the menu key.
Or maybe one of you has another idea/observation.
