New BB user - 7100g questions

I've wanted a BB for a while, so when I saw the 7100G refurb on Cingular's website I decided to upgrade my Motorola V551. It will mainly be used for voice and text, but I was wondering what my other options were.

I will not be getting a full data plan, just the basic voice with text messaging. If I wanted to set up my POP3 accounts on the phone, would I have to have one of the data plans? I'm just wondering what features I can use with just the voice plan.

Anything that involves days downloads would need a data plan. Text based services would work, but any thing else would require data.

What about PIN messaging? Is a data plan needed for this or is a PIN message considered a text message?

PIN message is definitely not SMS or MMS.

If you do not get a BlackBerry Data Plan then all you will have is voice and SMS. No GPRS. No PIN messaging. Just voice and SMS. No POP3. No data at all.

I just got on Cingular's website and I don't see where I can add the data plan to my existing account. Do you have to get the data plan completely seperate from your voice plan? We've already got 3 phones on our voice plan so i'd like to just add the data part to our existing account. Is that possible?
