Wow..for a mod, you really are a *****. I have seen you try and bully on MANY occasions.

NJBlackBerry

Wow. I feel really bad now. Really.
I am such a bully. Really I am.

I just want to know what makes an OS lovely. It was a simple question.

Online bullying? Interesting concept. I liked what I saw from the pics on engadgetmobile. MP3 plus the other different things it offers. That's what I find lovely about it. You know just like the Jets are lovely.

I bet if you said the Jets were lovely even in the Meadowlands, you'd still get your tail kicked. ;-)

Some ice cream would be lovely...

4.2 would be good if it would support media transfers for 8700 series.

The Jets are a football team. I've never called them lovely.
I guess if you like, OS 4.2 is lovely..
First time I've ever called a piece of software lovely. But I have still never called a football team lovely ;-)

No one 'really' knows when it's coming out. Some say mid-to-late October; so, we wait...

ps: I won't use the word lovely from now on...

Well the 4.2 desktop manager says OS 4.2 is required for media transfers so it will probably work.

I think the Jets will be very watchable this year... as long as you dont' expect big things (like a post season)

lovely

Yeah, I'm aware that it supports media transfers, but I wasn't sure whether it was only for the 8100 series. I did download the new desktop mgr, and it looks pretty good. But as Pizzle pointed out a few above, it should support the 87xx, so it should be good :-). Can't wait to do some mass picture transfers!

Just for clarity, it's not "should work". It does work.

I asked a bb rep when the 4.2 would be out for the 8700r. not until the new year. I guess its on the Rogers side of things right now to approve and test it. meh.

well i've read in this thread that version 4.2 has the Media Manager which " should " allow pics and ringtone transfers between my computer and 8700 but i can confirm it does not . i've tried everything and excuse me if i mistaked the purpose or topic but i get an error message saying something to the effect that my blackberry is not suppoted for media tranfers . oh well , i tried . by the way , i'm on cingular in NYC with desktop software version 4.2 now ... i see the media manager but it won't manage anything on my 8700c yet ...(n)

jibi
09-28-2006, 01:20 AM
as mentioned MANY times in the last few weeks, the desktop manager 4.2 is NOT the handheld software (OS) 4.2. you have to have BOTH in order to use the Media Manager included in desktop manager 4.2. your version of desktop manager should not exceed the version of handheld software loaded on your machine. desktop manager 4.2 was released by RIM because of the 8100's release (which is running, you guessed it, handheld software (OS) 4.2).

since you only have OS 4.1 on your 8700c, you should be using desktop manager 4.1, unless you purely want the novelty of having the latest version of desktop manager installed on your PC, even with its currently unavailable components.

thanks man. i just saw this. definitely a wonderful game. the LSU fan sitting in front of me (btw, screw the auburn fans who would sell their tickets in an Auburn section to a visitor) had a Cingular 8700c. we had a few minutes to talk about the devices, but after that we jawed back and forth (in good humor, of course - i'm a very obnoxious fan online, but in person, i'm one of those model citizens).

we do have a lovely football team. our offense is very pretty. and our defense is absolutely ravishing. i quite enjoy sipping on my hot tea while basking in the sun's rays overhead the beautiful Jordan-Hare Stadium. and our eagle's pregame flight is absolutely marvelous.

...yeah, that kind of sounded umm... yeah.

We all appreciate soccer here - I think we paid attention when that chick took off her top :-)

And between Messrs. Lerner and Glazer, we appear to be buying up teams, too.

(OK, I watch a lot of soccer, only because my boss is from Scotland)...

OK - another thrilling 1-Nil game coming up :-)

as mentioned MANY times in the last few weeks, the desktop manager 4.2 is NOT the handheld software (OS) 4.2.

Is it too late to hope that they'll change the version to a completely different number? ;-)

Can't tell you how many times I've wished that either the DM or the OS would jump to a different numbering system.

not deleting it since there is some useful info towards the begining, will close it though.

*edit* I take that back, there is no useful info in this thread. Still closing it though.
