Hmmmm.... strange. I have an unsupported D-link dongle and I got it to work just fine. It took a few times between the Desktop Mgr and pairing but its fine now. Be sure you select Trusted on the BB for the paired device.

Try doing a right-click on the DM in the system bar and setting up bluetooth. There's an article on blackberry.com/support/ as well on the Bluetooth forum that tell you how its done.

Is there a fix for this problem...... anyone? All the tutorials that I read refer to 8700 series but does not work for the 8703e.

I have the same problem that Junior has, my "enable blackberry connection" is greyed out. I have an IBM integrated bluetooth feature on my laptop and a Verizon 8703e.

It will work fine with your Thinkpad. I got mine paired & sync'd in about 2 minutes. I can't find the URL I got the instructions from, but it went exactly as they said it would.

Edit:
The instructions are for an 8700, but worked fine with my t41 & vzw 8703e

I got it to work, thanks. Simply deleted the driver and re-installed it with the pre-loaded drivers and it used the windows drivers for the enumerator and software. I have a T60, which comes with a Broadcom Bluetooth Modem.

Verizon's not blocking it, because I have it working fine on my VZW 8703e.

First thing I did was pair the BB and my PC. I then went into the desktop manager and finished the config. I don't remember the exact steps, but googling or searching this forum should both yield results. I had found a great step x step by via google, and a few days later found the same instructions on this site.

Step x Step - Direct from RIM

Livelink - Redirection (http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8021/1067148/1067313/How_To_-_Set_up_Bluetooth_PC_Connectivity.html?nodeid=1067250&vernum=13)

I found this link here:

Gotta love the search button!

i did a search and i followed both directions here and on rim's site the problem is that the desktop will not connect to the device the services portion on the computer is empty but when i go into the desktop manager (4.2) it will say how long its been connected via bluetooth
