Hello,

I have a regular blackberry 7290 and a Blackberry 7290 with an IT policy. The one with the IT policy has a nice screen and the normal one has a scratch. I tried to switch the screens but it seems that they only work in their original bb....Is this right or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Tim

Are you talking about the lcd screen or the plastic screen attached to the housing.

If the plastic screen, or housing on both BB's are 7290's (and are the same design) you most definately will be able to swap the two screens.

Not sure if lcd's can transfer.

What do you mean they don't work. As in they don't fit or when you turn them on it doesn't work?

Hmm sounds as if something is not connected right. Double check how they're connected. If everything looks right it could just be that they're not transferable. Although I'm not sure why that would be.

Could it be that ones a cingular one and ones T-Mobile? Both unlocked...

Well if you're just swapping the lcd I'm not sure why that would matter at all. The only thing you're moving is the actual screen itself correct?

Okay, I'm really not sure then. Like I said if everything is connected properly it should be ok. They sell replacement lcd's for that handheld so it is possible.

If anyone else would like step in with some info on this please do so.

I have replaced LCD screens purchased on Ebay. 7290 for 7290 does work. just dont try to go from black and white to color .you have to be very careful with connections. make sure the connections are seated and firm.
